Discovered by Michael A. Dirr at the Mt. Airy Arboretum, fragrant springtime bottle-brush white flowers are profuse and appear over velvety green foliage, the fall leaf color is stunning and similar to a sugar maple with shades of yellow, orange and red.

Fothergilla is an easy to grow shurb that requires little maintenance and will tolerate most well drained soils. A North American native, they offer three seasons of interest in the landscape, fragrant springtime flowers, soft velvty summer foliage and showy fall leaf color.
