Artemisia (Wormwood)

These perennials are grown mostly for their colorful, ornamental foliage. Most are very drought tolerant and prefer well-drained, more alkaline soils.

Growing Temperature:
55-60 °F Days, 45-55 °F Nights
Soil pH:
5.6-6.2
Fertility:
Average feeders. Do not over fertilize as stems can become weak and lead to "birds nesting" creating hollowed centers.
Pests and Diseases:
Aphids, whitefly. Root, stem and crown rot. Downy mildew.
Potting and Timing:
Select varieties can be much faster to finish/establish than others.
Moisture:
Grow dry. Do not like to be over wet, high moisture levels can lead to hollow centers.
Planting Level:
Place plug level with soil.
PGRs/Pinching:
Best growing practices are suitable for controlling height and shape. Make sure plants are evenly spaced and not grown in too warm or wet of conditions.
Lighting:
High light levels.
