We offer most of our bare root perennials as #1 divisions; these are 1 year old grown plants sized for transplanting into 1-gallon containers. Our Astilbe, Dicentra, and Peony are offered in 2-3 and 3-5 graded "eyes", referring to the points of growth on a division. All roots will be shipped dormant and most come packed 25 per bag with a selection of popular varieties offered in bulk. Many of our field-grown perennials come from the West Coast where the long growing season produces large crowns and heavy root systems.
