A seedling selection of 'Red October', this native grass was chosen for its ever changing color throughout the season. Upright dark green foliage in summer will begin to turn red and then dark purple-black by September, as the nights get cooler.

A North American native, this prairie grass is very drought tolerant and requires very little maintenance.  They are excellent for mass plantings and create lovely tableaus when interplanted with flowering perennials.  A warm season grass.
