Strawberry hybrid 'Pineberry'

Fragaria chiloensis

A hybrid of the wild strawberry, Fragaria chiloensis. Produces small white fruit with red seeds. Very aromatic with a hint of pineapple flavor. White fruit appear in June and are invisible to bunnies and chipmunks because they don't recognize them as ripe. Pollinator for Raspyberry variety for an increase in yield.

There are 3 types of Strawberries:

  1. Everbearing: produces two crops a summer, one in the spring and one in late summer/fall. This one is very good to use in hanging baskets
  2. June bearing: produces a large crop once a year, usually in June. Very good variety for freezing
  3. Day Neutral: can produce Strawberries continuously throughout June through September
