A cold hardy banana that survives year round in the garden, native to Japan this species gets big and needs lots of room due to its quick growth habit, grown not for the fruit but for the highly ornamental tropical foliage. Each leaf can reach an enormous size at 2' wide by 6' long, use where a statement plant is needed.
